Dr Bala graduated from National University of Singapore with a place on the Dean’s List and went on to complete his specialist training with RANZCR, where he was awarded the CE Eddy medal. He then completed fellowship training in Sydney, Australia and stereotactic fellowship at the Ottawa Hospital Cyberknife Centre. His clinical and research interests are aligned in neuro-oncology, haematological conditions and high-precision treatments for the oligometastatic state. He is an active researcher with over 100 peer-reviewed publications and is the PI for several ongoing prospective studies including digital therapy for cognitive rehabilitation, RNA therapeutics for glioblastoma and novel radiation-friendly spine implants. He serves as the secretary for the radiation oncology subsection in the Singapore Radiological Society, and country representative for the Federation of Asian Organizations for Radiation Oncology (FARO).
