Dr Carol Johnson

Carol was educated in South Africa, trained as a Radiation Oncologist at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town qualifying in 1989. She worked as a specialist in Cape Town from 1990 to 1997 when emigrated to Wellington, New Zealand where she still works. Over the years she has filled many roles including being the Clinical Leader for Radiation Oncology Wellington for 12 years, served on various advisory groups to the ministry including being the chair of ROWG (Radiation Oncology Working Group) for 12 years. She has also contributed the RANZCR on the NZExec, and as a College Council member - 9 years as the NZ RO rep and 3 years as Chief of Professional Practice.

One of her main interests has been in gynaecologic malignancy and was responsible for developing the Wellington HDR service for gynaecologic cancers.
